Who Is Jerry Springer


Jerry Springer is a British-born American television host and politician. He is best known for The Jerry Springer Show, a daytime talk show featuring controversial topics and outrageous guest behaviour. He also hosted America's Got Talent from 2007 to 2008, and Judge Jerry from 2019 to 2022.

Jerry Springer was born in London during World War II to refugees escaping the Holocaust. He was raised in Queens, New York City.

Springer earned a degree in political science from Tulane University in New Orleans in 1965. He then graduated from Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago in 1968.

Springer began his career as a lawyer before becoming a political campaign adviser for Robert F. Kennedy.

In 1970, he was elected to the Cincinnati city council and served one term before being elected mayor of Cincinnati in 1977.

Springer's talk show began airing nationally in 1991 and became known for its outrageous guests and controversial topics. The show ended its run in 2018 after 27 seasons.

Jerry Springer died on April 27, 2023 at the age of 79.
